Types of Numbers

You've probably heard of different types of numbers in some of your mathematics classes, or by just poking around the internet.  I'm willing to bet you've heard of prime and composite numbers, whole numbers, and integers.  You might have even heard of rational and irrational numbers.

Did you know there lots of different "classes" or "types" of numbers?  Some of the more interesting classes of numbers are named friendly, solitary, perfect prime, imaginary, real, complex, the list goes on and on!

In the next couple of weeks do two things for me, would you?

1. Find two types of numbers I've listed that you haven't heard of before and figure what makes a number "perfect" or "friendly" or whatever other classes of numbers you choose . . .
2. There are a lot more types of numbers besides the ones I've list, go find them!

See you in a few weeks!
