One of the things we work on at JSA is modular origami. We use a mode called a PHIZZ unit . . . which is an acronym for pentagon, hexagon, zig-zag unit. This unit was created by Tom Hull. Search the internet and YouTube for instructions on how to make PHIZZ units, as well as some pretty impressive creations! If you are really inspired try to fold a few PHIZZ units and make one of the structures you’ve found.
The first of Hull’s instructional videos is below:
I’m also working on learning how to make a new origami mode; I’m looking for one that will compliment the PHIZZ unit quite nicely. If you have a suggestion let me know!
